1. Café Meron

Café Meron offers one of the best coffees in town. Espresso, special coffees, lemonades: you’ll definitely find something you like. Maybe try an oriental tea once? Enjoy some nice pastries or cake with it and relax in the cozy atmosphere chilling in an armchair. If you’re lucky you’ll get hold of the seats right in front of the big windows from where you have a great view on Strada Napoca and Piata Unirii. Generally, Meron is furnished in a modern, somehow retro style. The internet connection is very good, no worries about any inconvenience while working. Please note that you have to order at the bar. After they’ll bring your order to the table.
2. Koffer

Koffer is a coffee shop and bookstore at the same time. Seems to be the perfect circumstances for studying, doesn’t it? Enjoy coffee from various origins, a hot chocolate or fresh juices for some extra energy. Prices are decent concerning to the quality you get (6-10 lei for a coffee). The whole café is decorated like a living room which makes you feel home.
3. Sisters Café

Sisters Café is located downtown, close to the University Babes-Bolyai in a historical building. From the moment you enter the café, you see colorful paintings on the walls making it a vivid place. Sisters has 4 different rooms which keeps noises down a bit and creates a perfect, pleasant working atmosphere. Probably there’s hardly any coffee they don’t have. Recommended are their special coffees like the Crème Brulee Latte. Wifi is free and has a good connection.
4. Yolka Bar

If Yolka isn’t a unique place, there’s none. Yolka is some kind of an insider tip as it is located in an apartment on the second floor that you reach only through a backyard. It’s right in Piata Unirii, but without knowing it you would probably never find it because there’s no sign or anything. For certain, you won’t run out of oxygen at Yolka either since the walls are covered with plants. There’s a cat running around from time to time as well as plenty of creative, relaxed people. Watch people hurrying on Piata Unirii while you’re sitting up there, drinking your coffee, studying in a calm, somehow isolated environment.
5. Roots

Roots’ coffee will give you all the energy you need! Choose from various, special types of coffee. They offer coffee from different origins as well as methods of brewing. For even more energy and some vitamins, they also have fresh juices and lemonades. Roots is a very quiet place with a nice view on the Bulevard. There’s a good internet connection and access to power plugs in the back of the room making it a good place to work.
