Când am început să ascult podcast-uri aveam 21 de ani, eram studentă la Jurnalism și-mi plăcea să fiu la curent cu știrile de pe Glob. Cea mai ușoară și plăcută metodă de a face acest lucru era să ascult podcast-ul celor de la BBC, care furnizau în fiecare zi conținut bine realizat și distribuit mereu la timp. Pot să zic că a fost dragoste la prima ascultare. Am început să caut mai multe podcast-uri și încă de la început, am constatat că în alegerile mele mă influențau vocea sau vocile celor care moderau podcast-ul, evident pe lângă subiectele abordate și durata podcast-ului.
Din punctul meu de vedere, podcast-urile sunt utile pentru o mulțime de situații: fie că ești plecat la drum în mașină și nu știi ce să asculți, fie că gătești, faci curat sau te plimbi prin parc, ele au o manieră unică de a te informa, distra și chiar scoate din cotidian. Din 2015 și până în prezent, am ascultat numeroase episoade, poate chiar sute, din diverse categorii: podcast-uri de comedie, de storytelling, informative sau cu o tentă romantică. După ce apăs pe play, ascultarea se transformă într-un proces foarte personal de acumulare și procesare a informațiilor. Ascultarea este ca o scufundare într-un ocean al poveștilor de viață, cu personaje reale, care se apropie de tine prin vocea lor sau a altcuiva.
Ce ascult cel mai des?
– Modern Love, un podcast cu povești ale oamenilor simpli, citite de vedete. E pentru momentele când ai nevoie de puțină sensibilitate în viață.
– Song Exploder, un podcast scurt, dar captivant. Artiști care își explică piesele, de-a fir a păr într-un sfert de oră. Compact și totuși emoționant.
– Fresh Air, un podcast care acoperă foarte multe teme și subiecte, precum și personaje celebre, vedete și povești care te pun pe gânduri.
– The Mortified, doza de umor care dă dependență. Povești din jurnalele adolescentine ale oamenilor care acum sunt adulți, rostite în fața unui public de necunoscuți.
– Stuff Mom Never Told You, un podcast cu urme de feminism, dar în cadrul căruia se discută și lucruri precum problemele sociale.
– Stuff You Missed in History Class, poate cel mai surprinzător. Atât de multe povești interesante încât e greu să alegi un prim episod.
– Stuff You Should Know, care răspunde la întrebări care încep cu De ce? sau Cum? O mulțime de teme sunt abordate aici.
– This American Life, un podcast cu o vechime considerabilă, cu peste 600 de episoade.
– Pe Bune, de la Decât o Revistă, un podcast românesc în care sunt relatate povești despre oameni creativi, viață și ce înseamnă să crezi în visele tale.

Unele podcast-uri sunt transcrise (mai ales cele din rețeaua NPR). Înainte să descopăr lucrul acesta, îmi plăcea să pun pauză și să trec într-un document părțile mele preferate din acel episod. Astfel, am ajuns la o serie de citate pe care le îndrăgesc.
Așa aș vrea să și închei intervenția mea despre podcast-uri. Cu aceste fragmente care mi-au deschis ochii și atins inima. Ceea ce vă doresc și vouă.

Damon Albarn (about Andromeda): I wanted it to be in the future. And the future for me has always been synthetic, digital. Record narrative is really important. And on this record in particular the narrative ark is imagining something in the near future, which happened in America, but that really turned everything up on its hand and made people feel very uncertain about their future. So it’s in the future, it’s futuristic, it’s fantasy, it’s imaginary. Or is it? This song actually ended up to be as a very personal song, I mean I never said this before. On the record, next to the song Andromeda, it says For Ethel. Ethel is the deceased mother of my partner. And she was very, very ill when I first sat down at the piano and I was just thinking about her. When she was in her last few hours, I went to see her in the hospital. As tragically as it was, her passing final look and words to me were so beautiful and uplifting. Thinking of her I started thinking about Bobby Womack as well, who passed away two years previously. I was thinking about all these beautiful people that I had known and passed away.
