In our upcoming PATRIR Peace Film Night we decided to listen to women’s voices by spotlighting female filmmakers and stories from all across the globe. As part of the 5th Annual Women’s Voices Now Online Film Festival “Exposed and Uncovered: The War on Women” we are going to watch a series of different experimental short films (~ 60 min) and vote online upon them. From Myanmar to Uganda, Bilbao to Los Angeles, the films selected to this topic fix our gaze upon the globally acknowledged need to redefine and re-establish the relationships within and among women, and between men and women.
This Peace Film Night is going to be a pre-event for the upcoming march “Marsul Femeii“ in Cluj-Napoca on Sunday, April 15th.* The initiative is organized by the local NGOs COMMA, Asociația ATENA DELPHI, eLiberare and PATRIR. We invite our community to stand up for the rights of the women in your lives, and to participate in discussion groups on various topics such as gender based violence, domestic violence, gender inequality. Since April is the sexual assault awareness month, our goal is to remind the collective consciousness that the woman is a human being, and should be treated as such.
After the screening, we invite you to join us for a critical discussion and to vote online upon the different shorts. As usual, the event is for FREE. We are excited to have you there!
Outline of the evening:
Start of the event with welcome & introduction: 7:00pm
Screening of the shorts: ~ 60 min
Discussion & voting: ~ 8:15pm
End: ~ 9:30pm
